Global Warming Hope

We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them.

We say we love trees, yet we cut them down.

We say we love our planet, yet we pollute it

And then we wonder why some are afraid when told they are loved.

Humankind has not woven this web of life.

We are but one thread within it.

Whatever we do to our web, we do to ourselves.

All things are bound together. All things connect

God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought,

disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods.

But he cannot save them from fools.

The earth, the sea, and the air are the concern of every nation.

And science, technology, and education can be the ally of every nation.

For The earth provides for every man's need,

but not for every man's greed

It was designed to sustain every generation,

not to be plundered in an attempt to meet one generation's wants

Because we are forgetting about our future generations,

Future generations will never forget us.

We seem to be living on this planet

as if we had another one to go to

And unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

nothing is going to get better

It's not.

For It is the greatest of all mistakes

to do nothing because you can only do little

- try and do what you can

After all your Service to others and this planet

is the rent you pay for your room here on earth
